What happens if my student doesn't learn a concept straight away? Do I reteach it or move on?

If a student doesn’t learn a concept straight away, you may choose to spend some additional time explicitly teaching it. However, it is important not to become ‘stuck’ on one concept at the expense of moving through the scope and sequence. Instead, continue progressing while revisiting the concept regularly in meaningful ways.

This could include adding a word containing the target concept to subsequent review tasks or incorporating it into dictated sentences. Often, students require multiple exposures before a concept is fully understood.

You may also choose to provide additional home learning opportunities to increase exposure and support consolidation of the concept.
